The new and improved video of NO ENTRY is here. Any advice on the new video would be greatly appreciated!

Michael... no offence, is this the performance, or the explanation?

It's nice, but nothing really new, and IMO a simple DL to make them believe their card is on the table, followed by a simple l**d as you turn to pick up the tape, but would be more effective and less suspicious.

And I can see you've picked up a few mannerisms of Mr. Sankey's :P.

I must say i have never seen a more blatantly palmed card in my life mate. As Cardza said, if you were to slip the card in while doing another action like picking the tape up that could cover the move of you placing the card in your pocket *Maybe*, although being honest i think the way it is carried out is a bit too obvious.

Hope that helps?

Keep Trying

Not at all.

But frankly, you revealed the method during the perfomance.

Your fans, shuffles etc. are great.

But your palming and ditching suck. The effect is old, except for the duct tape, and to be fair, there are ways of performing this effect without using palming at all.

It was more an explanation than a performance, in as much as aside from the control of the card to the top, you gave the game away.

Please, take it as a criticism, and better yourself by it. That's what criticism is for.

Well... at least my flourishes were good. I tried to do a One Hand Top Palm but I couldn't so the palm had to be done with two hands. I think at least the certain card load technique is new...

New but if I'm being honest its not the most subtle load ever.

I know how to palm a card... but I realized during filming that my hands were too slippery for a One Handed Top Palm.

Ellusionist? BAH! PLEASE Take that back! :(

Yes, just to expand on Sir Digby's comments:

You're setting them up for a card to pocket effect by the very act of having a card selected and lost in the deck, and then showing your pocket empty. Thus any action which is suggestive of a move is not good whatsoever - which is exactly what you have.

You want to put in what Darwin Ortiz calls 'barriers' - having them hold onto what they believe to be their card is one way of enhancing the effect a little bit.

Can I just give one more bit of advice.

When posting a vid, instead of hailing it as 'the latest and greatest', just say 'I wonder if you would be kind enough to view my effect and let me know what you think'.
Perhaps its a culteral thing, but the first way sets people up to want to knock you down.

Thanks for the tips... the ebook I wrote for this effect has a handling that involves "barriers". There are a few handlings that might ultimately be better than the Original NO ENTRY. No way to know for sure until I try them all a bit more.

Well it fooled me... I am of to collect stamps now.

Instantly take some duct tape? Is this being marketed to plumbers? Any way some nice fans should learn to do a one hand close. And take that marlarky out with the sybil style cut. Nice idea though but practise your palming like the others said. And your force needs work.

EDIT: When you roll the duct tape up cant you vanish that too?

LOL I didn't do a force. By the way, look out for my performance of Hayashi's Matrix Trilogy coming as soon as it finishes uploading.
