excellent... I'm hoping to get some interviews with the acts once they are announced... it sounds like it's going to be a great one this year :)

It is a great convention. It has a lot more...personal feel to Blackpool, or so I am told by several Magicians.

www.magicconventionguide.com and use the laterooms or hotel.com search for hotels in the area...

the novotel is a bit pricey.. I normally stay in the Premier Inn over the road..

will have a link to that on on the site in a bit...

just updated to start listing near-by hotels

http://www.magicconventionguide.com/gui ... on-hotels/

The guide has two links to hotels.com showing a map of hotels in the area of the shaw theatre.. and also to laterooms.com around the postcode for the shaw theatre.

If anyone has any reviews or recommendations for international weekend.. let me know via email and I'll add it to the list and links..

I had a nice chat with Martin in International Magic the other day (and a nice cup of tea). He told me that the line-up for IMC 2008 will be published soon, but one of the lecturer will not be announced on beforehand at all. Just as he enters the stage. Obviously somebody mega-famous!

This is the same thing they did when Derren Brown held a lecture a few years back and they did it to avoid having a lot of members of the public coming and asking for photos and autographs before and after the lecture.

I got the feeling that it would be a situation where, if you will take the chance and come there, you will be happy you did, but if you didn't, you would say afterwards: Gee, I wish I would have gone to IMC 2008.

I wonder who it will be... :P

I really wouldn't mind attending this convention, but I'm afraid I have university commitments.

Sadowitz won't be happy Kaufman is going to be there!

Richard Turner on the other hand, his card work is unmatchable.
