Lots of newcomers to Magic aren't aware of Sharpies by name - I'd been using them at work for years before I even noticed the name and connection with magic!

It's the pen David Beckham advertises.

When I first joined TM, everyone was talking about Sharpies and I relly didn't have a clue what one was. I had to google it to find out that it's a marker pen.

wowzers....I supose none of you ever used them to Draw fake tashes on friends at re enactments (some of um historicak importance should I say)..........I was a very bored individual.

i just watched the new derren brown evening of wonders dvd.but one of the things that i wanted to see on the dvd had been edited out...... i just wanted to know what prediction pad he used for his badge reveal at the end of the show.. anyone know???

I saw him at Northampton, and it was a very good show indeed. I personally didn't enjoy it as much as his previous two tours, but maybe thats because I expect too much from him now. 'Guess Who' was really good fun.

I agree with others, the first half for me felt a tad flat and seemed almost like a comedy act at times. A few too many gags. But the second half.. wow. I love it when Derren does the historical medium type stuff. He pulls it off really well and knowing this stuff was done for real back in the day makes it all the more spectacular to watch. The ending was awesome, very well executed and the audience went crazy.

Out of curiosity, did he use a "looks a bit gay!" comment at any other dates during the "Guess Who" trick, or did he just throw that in at the one I saw? It was my card I think! quite amusing. He seemed to make fun of quite a few people which was all taken in good spirits which is how it should be taken. Was nice to put a face to a name with Coops too. It was funny seeing everyone panic when he asked for photos. Great show... great ending. Well worth the money.

Hope he tours next year. Really enjoyed it.

I'm glad you managed to wait long enough for him to come out. It would have gutting if you had left and just missed him!

I seem to remember that line from the pre-tour show I saw in Chatham. It went over well, so why not keep it in?

Coops took a photo of me with DB at the stage door afterwards. I pointed out which buttons did what on my camera (the shutter isn't very obvious), and both of them assured me "Oh, don't worry, Coops is a real whiz with cameras." He then proceeded to hold his fingers over the flash and end up with this masterpiece:



Oh, how we laughed. He did another one without covering the flash, so that's all right then.

I also managed to forget the word "shutter" and called it a "trigger". Which I didn't notice, but Derren picked up on.

We hooked up with Derren backstage at the Hexagon in Reading.. the mans a gent.. and so is Coops and Phillis..

the show is just wonderful.. and really urge you to get to the london dates (there are still tickets if you look through for blocks of 1 and 2...)

Finally secured myself a ticket for his show in Glasgow tomorrow night, cant wait
