Cross on card

Postby panther1004 » May 23rd, '04, 07:38

Name: Cross on the Card

Price: £2.50

Difficulty: 1
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Reset: Instant

Description: You show an ordinary deck of cards front and back. Someone thinks of a card then names it. When the card is found in the deck it is the only one with a cross on it!

Value: I suppose for 2.50 in isnt bad...

Get it from: http://www.itsmagicuk.co.uk

Rating of Trick: Strangly it just scrapes 8... Lets say 7.8...

Down side: Deck is not inspectable, unless switched and this trick is not printed on bikes.

Overall: When I got this trick I knew it was RUBBISH. It was so obvious how it worked. But I tried it one day, and got some really really good reactions. Don't shove this trick in a draw it really does get reactions if performed correctly. Nice.

I have a (homemade) x-deck in my jacket as an insurance policy for when another card trick goes wrong for whatever reason so I lose a chosen card.. for this purpose it is perfect, because you can seamlessly (and safely) segué into it without your spectator being any the wiser (unless you were doing a signed card trick, but hey, you could try anyway!). It does get good reactions too, but be prepared for grabby spectators.
