C4: CapCuts - Cap Casino

Ooo, I'm on a roll today!!

C4: CapCuts; The Craziest Card Contortions EVER Created

If you're into flourishes you will probably like this video. I bought it when I was going through a stage of using alot of flourishes in my routines. Now I tend to use these moves more for warm up or just playing with a deck.

This video contains 9 cuts and 3 "extra" moves. The extra moves are probably best described as the basics of the more complex cuts.

Each cut is designed to be performed in the hands and not on the table. This makes this DVD pretty much ideal for street/walk around workers who don't use a table. Just to get a feel for the type of cuts contained on the video here's the contents list:

1. Intro
2. Transitions (extra)
3. Z-Cut (extra)
4. 1 Card Popout (extra)
5. B.R.S. (Blind Rotational Sybil)
6. 5 faces of Sybil
7. Porcupine
8.Bridge Cut
9. Hexagon Cut
10. Octagon Cut
11. Line Cut
12. Line Cut Deluxe
13. The CapCut

Now if you visualise what those cuts might look like you'll probably coe close to how they actually do look (all except the CapCut and the Sybil moves) The CapCut is Cap's personal cut and it's very impressive.

Now although this is a good flourish video the teaching is a bit naff really. Cap Casino is, if I'm right, only in his late teens and alot of the teaching smacks of immaturity in performance and confidence. Also the teaching isn't as thorough or clear as it could be and it takes alot of work to actually understand how to do it because the video conatins alot of unneccesary backtracking. The presentation of the whole DVD is a bit shoddy aswell and the camera work isn't very good.

Overall though it's a valuable DVD in terms of flourishes and depending on your performance style there is probably something here for you.

Overall: 6/10
Price: £24.99 from http://www.magicbox.uk.com

All the best,

Will Wood

CapCuts, isn't too bad. But yes, the annoying thing is his facial expressions. He just seems too cocky all the time.(with his eyebrows :P ) But as for his teaching methods, they're not too bad. I was able to do the BRS at moderate speed in a week. And I agree, if you're into flourishing, you should get this. Just get the instant download instead of the DVD from expertmagic and save your money. If you're just starting out in flourishes or XCM, however, I don't recommend this as your first tutorial vid. Jeff Mcbride's Art of Card Manipulation set has proven invaluable to me as a card flourisher/magician. check ebay first

OK... I am a bit confused...

You WOULDN'T buy it, you say. Which would evidently mean you haven't bought it, correct? Ergo, you don't own it, and subsequently could have never seen it.

Therefore, how can you comment that you WOULDN'T buy it based on criteria which would imply that you've watched it?
