Review

Well when you come down with Chickenpox you need something to keep your quarantined brain ticking over. Or perhaps you're tired of your usual card/coin routines and need to revamp your selection of tricks OR both of the above. OR you may be new to magic looking for something that will help you to build a reputation making repertoire of effects without spending too much money!! Whatever your reason for purchasing this 3 DVD set you will NOT be disappointed!

DVD 1 contains the Card routines. DVD 2 the Coins and DVD the Flourishes. Each routine is demonstrated and then segmentally explained. Every little nuance and detail within each effect is shown slowly and explained clearly. Even the trickiest of manouevres are competently explained.

Starting with nice simple card tricks such as "The Sandwich Outdone" we progressively move through difficulties until by the time you have completed the DVD you are performing some awesome feats of card magic. Repeat the process for DVD's 2 and 3 and by the end of DVD 3 you are a master!! Ok, maybe you're not, but you are now equipped and armed ready for some fantastic trickery that is going to astound and amaze family, friends and audiences alike.

Overall

There are effects here utilising principles that eventually become second nature to all magicians. Dont let this stop you though. I have spent as much as £25 for a single effect on DVD before so to receive so many tricks over 3 DVD's for a 'few dollars more' is worth anyone dusting off their credit cards.

If you're looking for a masterclass go for the king, Michael Ammar, however if you're looking for impressive abilities and capabilities that you can pick up as a beginner come amateurist come semi-skilled magician then this is definitely your bag!

I'm semi-skilled and have still come away from this DVD set with new found knowledge and/or handlings! At this price you cant go wrong, each DVD just over £10, many poor films that only serve to annoy cost more than this so forget the films and get with the education program and learn those cards and coins and flourishes in one convenient package.

This looks like it would be an extremely good purchase for me, as I want to get into coin magic and have already somewhat started with cards.

Now I need to restrain my CUPS:

*must get*
*must not get*
*must get*
*must not get*
*must get*
*must not get*

It is a great purchase for anyone really. Even if you have a coin and card repertoire this DVD (DVD's) claim to be "The Next Generation of Moves, Effects & Flourishes for the Close-up Enthusiast".

My DVD player is currently in meltdown from these 3 DVD's - LoL

Talking about watching a DVd without any personallity. Thats the problme with DVDs nowadays. People create a DVD but show no enthusuams during performance, or have no ability to show some personality.

have to agree with you there. They are a bit lack lustre in the enthusiasm department but at the end of the day the moves and routines are worth it. I particularly like the flourishes dvd at the mo but ask me tomo and it'll be a different story!!!

I've just gone back to this DVD set after a long time of it gathering dust and apart from the boringness of John Born I am still as impressed with it as I was the day I first got it.

I've been using sandwich outdone and pik-a-nip from the dvd in the last week and they are packing big punches!!

Sandwich outdone is an effect whereby not one but 2 cards appear sandwiched between reversed cards in the deck!! And a prediction you made is also shown to be true..... Not a great description I've just given but it's fair to say that there are a few twists in the expectation of what happens from the spectators point of view and the climax leaves you completely clean at the end!

But my favourite is pik-a-nip..... a card is chosen and the spec sees a glimpse of this card..... a bit of magic and youundo your shirt to show a pierced nipple..... the fanned pack of cards is waved over the piercing and the chosen card appears linked onto the piercing!! Very visual and powerful..... I love it!!

If you've got a odse of CUPS right now you could do worse than to get this..... and if like me it's been on the shelf for a while.... you will be glad you revisited it!!
