Well I have to say (and I do have to, because it's great fun dropping names). that I have seen Mike Rose perform this several times now, and I am still none the wiser!!!

"The Grail" is the result of many years of experimenting with the ACAAN theme. At his last lecture at the Pentacle Club in Cambridge, he went through several very strong variations that he has tried out, but the Grail seems way above anything else I have seen.

I don't have it (yet), and I am sure it isn't 100% sure fire evertime, after all what is? but from what I have seen, and the complete fairness of it I suspect that this effect may become a classic.

From a spectators point of view this effect is a killer...

The Grail

Postby Martin Le Guerre » Dec 5th, '04, 10:12

I've had mine since Friday when my pre-ordered copy arrived. All the hype is true. It does 'exactly what it says on the tin'. There's no reason why it shouldn't work 100%, every time.

Depending on the spec's chosen number you need to do a little bit of thinking and you may need to make a 'move'. As a relative newbie, I tend to ignore tricks with card sleights but this one is so easy you wouldn't really call it a sleight.

It will require a few hours practise but the effect is absolutely stunning.

Tom's Review

Postby The Last Deck on the Left » Dec 7th, '04, 14:22

Once again Tom, your excellent review has cost me money!

I'm sure that you secretly work for my credit card company - after clearing it each month, I read one of your reviews and I just have to buy the item in question! :D

Seriously though, great to have you finding all these amazing products!

Keep up the good work - but can you try and only bring us 1 excellent product per month!

Cheers!

i got some great advice on this effect from another magician... he suggested a VERY simple way to increase the chances of getting this 'on the money' every time... i used his suggestion and tweaked things a bit and now i feel TOTALLY safe doing the trick... it's such a mindblower that i can see this becoming a very, very popular trick!
