New Derren Brown Series

Postby AndyRegs » Apr 4th, '05, 14:34

Whilst reading my sunday paper, I noticed a small paragraph in the tv listings stating that a new series of 'derren brown: Mind Control' was starting shortly. Does anyone have any dates yet?

It's in the May edition of FHM's '10 Top TV shows to watch in April'
Derren Brown: Trick of the Mind 2
Channel 4, from April 15th
What is it? Old weirdy-beardy returns to take his mind-****ery onto the streets, tricking celebs like Simon Pegg, Alistair McGowan and Jonathan Ross along the way.
Why watch? To see if the ginger chancer tries to shoot himself again
[4/5 stars]

Unfortunately the description is up to the usual standard of FHM writers (ahem - I only buy it for the fashion pages, I'll have you know), however this is the information we're looking for!

By the way... anyone seen his new tour yet?

Watched it last night on E4... He keeps doing it... we all know how some of his "tricks" are done but it still blows me away... I wont say anymore as I dont want to ruin it for people who will watch it on friday night

He mix's them, for example the trick with the "fingers seeing as eyes" im 100% sure this was a pure magic trick. i didnt see him catch a glipse but the effect was made soo good with the presentation.

I can only agree.

The red BMX trick was phenomenal. I will never understand how Derren does it - he just seems to have a knack for getting into people's heads...

Guess we will never know, but i agree, it was an amazing show and i thought that it was nice that he was in a way "outsmarted" by a 10 year old, a nice bit of publicity for him i suppose!

Ill be wathing the full series, im hooked on Mr Brown, i would love to meet him!

Yer Derren is a nice guy. I meet him when he was filming the Blackpool Section for the new show. He made time to stop and sign autographs for people.

I've seen the money prediction done before on Max Magic, or something very similar. Still impressive and I liked seeing Derren being caught out by the kid. Not many magicians would have still included that footage - got a laugh and suspect a heap of respect as well.
