Greetings all,
I'm pleased to be joining a magic forum at last.
My journey into magic began around 25 years ago when I began performing simple card tricks for friends and family. Later, I joined a magic society which I have now been with for almost 20 years. In those early days I considered myself as a guy who just did card tricks and it was only after I branched out into other forms of magic, that I was happy to consider myself a magician.
Although I'm interested in all forms of magic, including mentalism, I specialise in close-up. I'm currently a casual performer who also enters the odd competition. I maintain a fairly small but varied repertoire of what I call my 'top drawer' material which I'm constantly trying to improve and find new people to perform to.
The thing that motivates me most is sharing a magical experience with an audience, seeing their reaction when they've just witnessed something 'completely impossible', and hoping it's something they will remember and talk about for a long time.
So, that winds up a brief introduction from me. I'm looking forward to getting involved in some of the discussions.
John
