What is this trick called?

Postby Magical_Trevor » Jan 31st, '14, 13:36

Hey all,

So, I was watching old videos of myself from an old camera phone and I saw myself doing a card trick ... I cant work out how its done but I know that I have the trick in a book SOMEWHERE ...

Basically, the trick is as follows:

Spec picks a card which is lost in the deck
Magician removed A-5 of a suit and shows the 5 cards
One at a time, each card (starting with the ace) is removed, placed into the middle and then shown to be on top
Each card then gets removed from the deck (reducing the cards in the magicians hand)
Ace is done once, 2 is done twice, 3 is done face up in the packet, 4 is shown on bottom the right away on top.
The 5 then turns into the spectators card.

I cant work it out as the camera work is all over the place.

I don't want to reveal or be seen to expose a trick I don't know the name of, I know that you have 6 cards in your hand, and at the start you order the cards a certain way. Then its all about false counts, possible Elmsley count or Ascanio spread to show the cards in your hand. I Just really want to know the name of the trick, or at least the person / book it may be in haha.

Thanks in advance guys and gals (Please say I'm not the only one who has this issue?)

Sounds like Ambitious Classic, or one of the many variations...

There is a list of variations and their source here:
